TO USE: Prior to use, pressure wash the surface if dirty, or simply sweep the surface to remove any loose grime and dirt that may prevent the Patio Black Spot Remover from coming into contact with the Black spots.
  1. ONLY APPLY WHEN THE SURFACE IS DRY. Do not apply when the threat of rain is imminent.
  2. Use neat – DO NOT DILUTE – fill a pneumatic garden sprayer with the solution- using a fine mist spray, apply a flood coat, building up to saturation point, working in sweeping strokes across the stonework.
  3. Immediately, continue to apply the product at right angles to the first coat, until the product is running wet or puddling on the surface, to ensure complete coverage. NB. If using the product for the first time, apply to an area 2 x 2 metres, then move on to the next similar area until application is complete.
  4. DO NOT exceed the maximum recommended coverage rate of 4.5 square metres per litre. Exceeding the recommended coverage rate will reduce the performance of this product. Coverage will vary depending on surface porosity and profile, eg. when treating sloping areas or more porous blocks, beware of surface run-off and re treat as necessary.
  5. Allow to cure for a MINIMUM period of 90 MINUTES, during which time the product should stay wet and NOT dryout. If the area is likely to be in direct sunlight, then apply when the sun has left the surface, (ensuring the slabs have cooled first) and/or leave overnight.
  6. What to expect- after applying the Patio Black Spot Remover correctly, you will notice a transformation within 45 minutes! The product will turn white, which is the trace element, and many of the Black Spots will disappear, and the natural colour of the stone will return.
  7. After 90minutes remove using a pressure washer (ideally with minimum flow of 7 litres per minute) with a fan jet attachment. Adjust the distance of the pressure washer to suit your particular application.
Re treat if necessary to remove any remaining spots or “ghosting” left after the first treatment, but allow surface to dry out COMPLETELY first. Older stones may require further re treatment, as the Black Spots will have penetrated more deeply

To maintain your garden stonework and stop the ‘return of the Black Spots’, buy and apply our Patio Black Spot Preventer annually. This will kill any ‘Black Spot’ spores before they have the chance to germinate and turn into spots and will also remove green algae without the need to power wash!
